APC is a respected manufacturer and this is a superb power conditioner.
APC appears to be dumping this model if it has the silver face plate. The same unit in black is currently offered at about $350.00 everywhere.
Tiger Direct, at their web site only, is offering this item at $149.97 as of July 2, 2009.
This is a stunning deal and I took advantage of it.

I assume it's doing it's job 'cause everything plugged into it works fine. If the components performed better after installing this then I would be worried but since everything is status quo, then I'm happy.

I purchased this item for $99 through Amazon. That price along with the surge protection capabilities and power filtering made for a deal I couldn't refuse. I also own the J15 (the battery backup solution) and on account of my great experience with that, it was a no-brainer. If you're not concerned about needing battery backup, this is a top-notch solution to protect all of your home entertainment center gear from power surges and poor quality electricity.

Bought this power conditioner after spending a lot of time researching many others. I have found this conditioner to be of great value compared to panamax and the over priced monster models. Picked the unit up for 200 bux compared to the panamax 5400 model for 500+ dollars.
I have all my components plugged into this, and have seen it work several times during recent storms (which we have a lot of here in Oklahoma). I'm impressed with the readouts on the front and the protection I feel that it has provided to my Entertainment system.
Usability of the product is good. The power cord on this thing is stout, which made it a little difficult to route through my custom built entertainment center I build but I was glad to see such a heavy cord on this product.
I strongly recommend this conditioner to all who are looking for a reasonable alternative to much higher priced name power conditioners. I have also noticed it has eliminated "hum" in my surround sound speakers.
Just my two cents. Buy with confidence!!!

Came new in box. Looks great when all powered up. Have my HDTV, Cablebox/DVR, DVD,receiver,and computer all plugged in and now feel safe when the storms come!!!
