"Good mounts if you use them just once or twice." 2009-05-07
By Gerardo Pedraza (Monterrey, Mexico)
Not very long lasting if you change your speakers from time to time. This is the second time I change speakers and the plastic is easely folded by the screws, so watch your strenght when adjusting. They get the job done but wont last long if you upgrade your system often.

 "Good product" 2009-04-13
By Pablo Gomez (Santiago, Dominican Republic)
Very good to put in the wall your home theater speakers. You could put them in the wall or ceilling.

"Do NOT buy this product." 2009-03-03
By Tech Nerd (Manalapan, NJ USA)
I purchased these mounts for my 4 lb. satellite speakers. The gear mechanism is very cheap plastic, and isn't strong enough to support my speakers. It isn't even a gear mechanism - it's a screw that you turn tight that presses into a piece of plastic - pure junk. Don't be fooled by the claim of supporting up to 8 lb. speakers - baloney. If your speakers are more than 1lb, forget it. I wasted my money. Remember, it's a chap price for a reason - you get what you pay for!!

 "Very Versatile Mounts" 2009-01-08
By Jonathan
These are great mounts that come with plenty of hardware to set them up how ever you wish. The have an unlimited range of motion and are very sturdy and very clean looking. Highly Recommend.

 "Speaker wall brakets" 2008-04-06

 "Great Product" 2009-09-08

"great value with expected quality." 2009-08-21
By Technichem, Inc.

 "Fantastic Value!" 2009-07-26
By Brian Leone
No long-winded writeup here. These mounts are sturdy, easy to set up and worked perfectly on my Yamaha 5.1 setup. I've had these for over a year now with no problems.

 "Good mounts for cheap" 2009-07-07
By NoNoBadCat
These speaker mounts work great with the speakers for a Sony STR-KS2300 (relatively small speakers). My speakers use a factory keyhole mount on the back (the kind that slip on top of a screw). I tried my speakers in both ceiling mounted and wall mounted configurations the mounts worked just fine. The mounts come with the hardware to mount into wood studs, concrete, and drywall.

Impressions: These speaker mounts were easy to mount and adjust to point speakers toward an optimum listening area. I've only compared these mounts to the brand held in stock by the local Best Buy (Init). Indeed, Best Buy's Init speaker mounts felt more sturdy (thicker, more solid plastic, and ratchet-like adjustment); however, Best Buys's mounts are also almost 4x the price. If you have heavy speakers, I would be careful with these mounts.

"Very good mounts for the money" 2009-03-24
By Jody & Dave (Cicero, NY)
Very good speaker mounts for the money. It took some head scratching to figure out the configurations, however, they work just fine. Certainly beats the $20 per mount I had seen other places.

"Good Enough for the Price" 2009-10-09
By D. League (Atlanta, GA)
I bought this unit at a huge discount to replace a broken carousel unit. It works very well for CD play, and it seems to work fine with movies. The original retail prices was $340, and there are better DVD's out there at that price range. All and all it works well and was worth the $146 I paid for it.

 "A no brainer" 2009-07-13
By spin_nin (Chicago, Illinois United States)
Great universal player at an outstanding price. Upscales to 1080p for brilliant picture quality. Audio output is fantastic. Far better than anything else in the price range ($80). Playes a wide variety of media. This is a slam dunk - Superior to the oppo. Buy this unit - you will not regret it.

"THE BEST CD PLAYER THAT I HAVE HAD" 2009-07-09
By Federico Sánchez (Costa Rica, Central America)
This Denon DVD-1940CI Universal Scaling DVD/DVDA/SACD Player with DCDi by Faroudja, I bought it just as a CD audio player, considerating that this prestigious brand is one of the oldest, and finest in audio equipment, I am very glad, of this purchase, it's notorious the superb sound that it deliver, it`s design black finish it`s elegant, the remote control, confortable in the hand, without many buttons only the necesary, very easy to use, and the best of all has been it's price offer. And of course it's a wonderfull DVD player NTSC/PAL,

 "Excellent Player" 2009-07-08
By William M
In the past year or so I have tried many different players, from Oppo, Marantz, Yamaha, Pioneer, etc. All of them had issues with certain disc's, especially DVD-R's. The Denon 1940ci so far has read everything I've thrown at it, even badly scratched disc's.

It's also the fastest DVD player I have owned, displaying video as fast as 4 seconds after closing the tray. I just sold my BDP51-FD BR player because I couldn't stand waiting two minutes for a disc to start, so this was a big plus to me. The picture quality is also excellent.

The only fault I can find, is that it won't play SACD's over HDMI. I use my Pioneer DV-48AV for SACD, so not really an issue with me.

I like it so much that I picked up a second one as a spare, as most of the better manufacturers seem to be dropping DVD players, or at least not introducing new models.

"Denon DVD-1940CI-SOLID upscaled DVD picture and multiaudio performance" 2009-03-26
By mannynj (USA)
At retail/msrp this player is a bit out of reach today with the performance value of a comparable Oppo 980H which can support 7.1 channel(however a bit overboard for DVD, and lacking market support of audio to utilize it). But for $87, a price at which these players are being dumped, it is an exceptional player benefiting from some trickle down Denon love. It is comparable in its Faroudja DCDi 1080p processing, and multi 24 bit Burrbrown DAC's handling both the digital and analog audio outs. I purchased this player because of its price and media playback-SACD, DVD-A, DIVX and its proven to play the homebrewed DVD+R/DVD-R that were previously hit or miss on my Sony. The Sony also did a weird blinking of a purple screen when loading a disc, which was annoying, perhaps detecting 3:2 pulldown, but the Denon goes on to play the disc seamlessly. I'm very happy for these improvements.

Its fairly simplistic/utilitarian in design as most of denon's players, but many will agree there's an appeal to it. Its fairly large in height, in direct comparison to the Sony DVP-NS92V I auditioned it against at home, same width...and mainly due to its round, traditional feet on 4 corners which lend it to blend fairly nicely with the look of your receivers, looking great in a component rack. Its not a hefty feeling piece of hardware, its rather light but appears well built and rca/connections feel firm and chassis mounted.

First of all, the picture on this player is the best I've seen for DVD playback on my Samsung HL-T6176S 1080p 61" display, that would be against the Sony mentioned above, Xbox 360 w/ HDMI and its HD DVD add on(comparable to Toshiba drives in A2/A3). Audiotioned 'Alexander-Directors cut'to see how it handled some of the grain and black level contrast and edges during the dark scenes. Also played back Wall-E DVD, and was rewarded with a very sharp and nearly Bluray quality image, later confirmed with Kung Fu Panda DVD playback. Simply put with a quality player and a great display with its own quality scalers, you can enjoy an excellent picture from your DVD library, good enough to tame the HD picture snob in you.

The sound is equally satifying during DVD playback, great dynamic range...i found the midrange and dialogue to have better intelligibility, and bass to have a sharper attack and decay, and snap then the Sony pushing my PSB speakers.

I found this Denon DVD-1940CI to provide an equally satisfying upscaled DVD picture to my Panasonic DMP-BD55k, so that in itself is quite rewarding.

I did not give it 5stars simply because the Sony, albeit dated does offer some more bells and whistles(mainly picture modes accessible from the remote) and the Denon overall is quirky in a few ways-you cannot change the 480p/576p,720p, 1080i,1080p on the fly on the remote, it is done by pressing the HDMI button on the face of the player. Same thing with multichannel audio having to press the Pure Direct button on the face. The on screen menu is nice and intuitive, but overall audio and video 'setup' requires it you to do it ONLY with no disc in the drive, certainly not accesible during disc playback from the remote, although u can some soundtrack/audio choices from it.

Overall having gone through 2 lemon entry level Denon receivers in Noverber 08, i've come across a lower tier offering from them thats performed as advertised out of the box. So far I'm very content with this universal player and if its available to anyone out there for the price I grabbed it for, it makes an excellent replacement for that old DVD player thats lacking some format support, may not upscale to 1080p or simply doesnt employ the quality audiophile or videophile components it offers.

 "Love Sirius" 2009-07-18
By Sparky Dog (Warren, PA)
I purchased this to have a second dock and it is so easy to move my radio from vehicle to vehicle.

 "Excellent for additional vehicles" 2009-03-17
By Carl Meyerhofer (Spokane, WA)
This is a very straight forward, easy to install option, for additional vehicles. Take your doc and play anywhere you want. I bought my wife the sat rad kit, for her car. Then, we needed one for the truck when we go camping, and there are no stations while traveling across the highways.

I would recommend this, and plan on getting one for the home, back deck, and one for the boat this summer! This lets you enjoy your sat rad (satellite radio) anywhere you want, with just one subscription fee.

Works great, I ordered and intalled several which allows you to move your plug and play unit to various vehicles or boat.

 "Easy Install " 2008-01-08
By JeffnKelly
The car kit was a peice of cake to install. It only took us about 40 minutes to prep and install. I chose to NOT use the mounts. It sits nicely on my console. All wires hidden and it worked out great!!! I ordered TWO more!!! One for my RV and the other for the Mrs' car.

You won't be disappointed!!!!

 "Sirius Kit is OK" 2007-05-07
By D. Long (NY United States)
I ordered this kit so I could move my Sirius unit from one vehicle to another, when I needed to. I also use the kit to play my Sirius in the house over an FM stereo. How ? I bought a 12-volt ac adapter at a local electronic supply house, and using alligator clips, just jump from the positive and negative leads on the adapter output line to the appropriate leads on the cigar lighter plug that is furnished with the kit. That takes care of the power. For the antenna , I mount the extra Sirius antenna on an small, empty, steel vegetable can. It works just fine; so, you can get double duty out of a kit like this, and use your Sirius unit in another vehicle, or, in your home for the price of the small 12V adapter.

 "Ipod dock" 2009-08-07

"Great addition for the Onkyo receiver!!" 2009-06-26
By G. Wong (Melbourne, Vic AUS)
Really great to be able to listen to the music on my iPod in surround sound, and easy to control too.

The on screen display is VERY average though. Easy to navigate, but looks very bad. But still good to be able to watch the videos I have on the iPod on my TV.

"Only purchase if you want to play video" 2009-04-14
By PesterPatrick (Illinois)
Same product as the DS-A2 except that it can play video. Sound is good with my Onkyo 606 receiver. Remote layout is confusing and has a very limited range. On-screen display is horrible. It looks like DOS back in the 80's. If your not interested in playing video, save your money and buy the DS-A2.

 "Nice little setup" 2009-01-06
By P. Mundy (Simsbury, CT)
While it would have been jice for Yamaha to include I-POD dock with the speaker bar, the product works as advertised with the speaker bar and the cost was very reasonable compared to other dealers for this specialty item with limited availability.

"Great Option for the Yamaha Receiver" 2008-12-29
By New Jersey (Parsippany, NJ United States)
The concept of the IPOD dock is simply great. I was surprised to learn that it is an available option AFTER we bought the receiver. It's such an important accessory, that one would think the Yamaha marketing folks would have included it in the point of sale materials. Go figure.

Anyway, it is simple to install and easy to use. I would definitely recommend it to anyone with an IPOD.

Playing music from the IPOD is certainly easier than selecting CD's to play and then inserting them into a CD changer.

Now that we have the IPOD dock, we may no longer need to have a multi-CD /DVD player. When it comes time to upgrade to a Blue-ray, we may only need the single CD/DVD player which will $ave a few shekels.

 "Great Product!" 2009-08-31
By C. L. Fo
This is a great product, and has an extremely good price! It comes in a small box, with all of the necessary parts for you to assemble it (on the wall or on the ceiling), as well as an instruction manual. These mounts are very firm and easy to install.

"Perfect for the Energy Take 5.0" 2009-08-01
By D. Carreiro (RI)
I bought these to go along with the Takes I bought. At first I thought they wouldn't work because they didn't look too sturdy. But when I mounted them, they did just fine. I had them for about a month now and the speakers are in the same position I mounted them in. The one thing I had to do was to drill a hole near the mounting post to hide the wire

 "Great product!" 2009-07-29
By S&G's dad (NE GA ya'll stay away!)
I agree with all the other 5 star reviews. What I didn't see was that you can take 2 or more of the long pieces and screw them together too. That was a nice thing for me.

 "Pleased with my purchase" 2009-06-07
By J. Jerry (Central New Jersey United States)
Don't let the price fool you. Very good, sturdy brackets with enough hardware to fit most brands/wall mounts I would assume. They are holding up my Onkyo on both a wall and on the side of my entertainment unit.

I highly recommend them.

EDIT- 1 month later and I am not as pleased. Still not bad but I have had to losen/straighten speakers out. I would drop down to 4 stars at this point.

"Sweet brackets on the cheap." 2009-04-16
By T. Duncan
Like one of the other reviewers said, these brackets are a lot sturdier than they look in the pictures here. They're inexpensive but built like a tank. I would definitely buy these again. I received them super fast in the mail too. They come with all sorts of hardware like screws and dry wall fasteners. Even comes with a little allen wrench to tighten things up! Great product! Can't wait to test them out with my Onkyo speakers.
