This product did little to cool my Dish Vip722 DVR, which tends to run very hot. My average temperature did not drop at all after several weeks of using this.

Purchased product to keep large Pioneer Elite AV receiver cool inside glass-door console. Before using this product, I would have to open the glass doors to keep the unit cool even with low listening volume or it would get hot to the touch. When I added the Antec cooler, I was able to keep the doors closed even on the low speed setting and it was only slightly warm to the touch. It has two speeds and I use the high speed only when I crank the volume. The low setting is barely audible, but the high speed fan setting can be heard but is not too loud to make it very noticeable. I also like that you can stack a component on top of this product as it is low profile with a solid wide base. Overall, I am very impressed with this product and I am sure it will add years to the life of my expensive AV components as it prevents over-heating and I can keep the doors closed and keep dust out of the electronics.

i used to use 2 computer fans on top of my receiver. this looks cooler, but the fans aren't that strong. my receiver doesn't run hot, but is still warm. when i used 2 computer fans, my receiver would not even feel warm, although it didn't look quite as nice and i also needed an external 12V power supply. i'd say it would be worth it if it was a little cheaper. another reason the fans may feel a little weak is they may be both sucking. maybe it might work better if one was blowing and one was sucking. i may just have to take it apart one day.

I bought this because my new Onkyo 7.1 receiver runs very very hot. The reviews I read stated that even with the doors closed on the entertainment center still kept their receivers cool. Well, they were correct, this cooler keeps it so cool its as if the unit isn't even on! I'm super pleased with it and am glad I bought it. My only bad comment is that the off/high/low switch is way too small.

This unit works great. I just ordered a 2nd unit to cool my DTV HD DVR. We all know how hot these things run! Plug it in the switchable outlet on the back of the units that need cooling and your good to go. Simple solution to the blue light. If you don't like it cover it with a piece of electrical tape.
