I ordered this off of amazon because I read reviews that this was the best soundbar on the market for the size, power, and price. When I got it in the mail however I had a different experience. I have an xbox 360, 32" samsang, and a phillips blu ray player to hook up to this bad boy. Once everything was hooked up via hdmi cables it.. didn't work. The sound cut in and out every few seconds and the picture did not come in at all. I was so frustrated. After I tried different blu ray players, tvs, and hdmi cables at my house I determined that it was the soundbar that was the problem, specifically, the sub that housed the reciever.



I went through the exchange process on amazon and in 2!!! days I receieved a replacement soundbar in the mail. Hooked everything up and it sounds beautifull. You really get what you paid for with this product. I have yet to turn it to its loudest yet and I've enjoyed many explosions through its speakers. I give it a 4/5 rating only because of the bad soundbar I receieved and because of the lack of connection options it has. I have hdmi which works perfectly with it but if you don't have that option then you don't really have much else to choose from in terms of connecting devices. Also, the lack of slots or appropriately named hdmi slots is kind of annoying. Do you really need a slot for a DVD player AND a blu ray player? Besides those two, the only other slot is for cable/sat. So as of right now i have the blu ray hooked up to the blu ray port and the xbox hooked up to the dvd port. Not that it matters what you hook them up to as long as you know what you're getting when you press the DVD button but why not name one of the slots external device or something else.



Buy this product if you're like me who can't afford the best surround sound system and live in a small townhouse. This is your best bet for the cash.

When I first connected my Sony sound bar & subwoofer I was disappointed because of the low volume levels. I then started reading the instruction manual and found that you can control the decibel level of the center channel & subwoofer. The factory default setting is -0- but you have control on the following scale

-6-5-4-3-2-1 -0- +1+2+3+4+5+6. I set my center channel & subwoofer to +6 which made a huge difference in the volume level. There's also an additional option that allows you to set your system to maximum sound level. After making these adjustments my system is very loud and in some cases too loud. The sound is bright & crisp. The led screen displays when broadcast audio is 2.0 or 5.1. HMDI is the best way to go with this setup. The appearance is attractive & neat. Out of the box setup is really easy but read the instructions to get the most out of this system. Of course it's not true surround but it's way better than using your television speakers. If you are looking for a non-surround system that has good crisp, and bright movie theater like sound this is the one for you. Anything more will require digging deeper into your wallet or purse.

Not a bad addition, but don't expect too much if you're used to a quality sound system. The biggest problem with this unit is not enough volume. I added it to a 42 inch plasma in my bedroom for additional sound with limited space. It enhances the sound, but I'd prefer louder volume. Realistically, all the HDMI hooks are a bit of waste if you're just connecting to a TV.

This soundbar did what I expected for the money. My only problem is that it doesn't get that loud hooked up to my DVR. The PS3 puts out way more volume. Setting it to PCM audio was my way of getting the most volume I could out of it. Would've loved if the remote worked with my Sony TV as well, and it did for 10 minutes, then it never took control of the TV again.

Overall, I'm satisfied.

I spent a long time looking at this system, debating about how it would work for my set-up. I have an old home with hardwood floors, there was no great solution for running wires or placing rear speakers, so that ruled out true surround. Looking at the various bar systems, I wanted a sub and didn't really trust the high-end systems to satisfy me. I placed this guy on my wishlist and waited for a gift.



I've had it set up for a week or so now. My first impression is that this sounds so much better than television speakers, the sub adds a lot of richness. Several people complained about the high-end volume levels not being loud enough. I honestly think they might have either faulty systems or not set it up right. Granted my room has no carpet, but I sit 12 feet away from the system and at about half it's full power, it's pretty loud. You CAN adjust the balance between the center speaker and the sub so that as you turn up the volume dialogue does not get washed out by bass.



All in all this is a great solution. There's no true surround effects, but things go boom now and it can fill the house with sound.
